If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. 1 John 1:6-10 KJV
Beside the peace which salvation brings is the battle for the right journey to eternity.
Light and darkness, both never to meet nor made to truce yet to part ways and valve paths, asunder and apart. John, blessed with the insight of this enmity tables an edict of no surrender.
It behoves us to know that to profess a relationship with God and walk on the path of darkness cannot be for to walk with God is to walk with light. Therefore, walking in the precepts of light, values and not vices.
Walking in the light implies then that we see clearer than in darkness and an before us are revealed the sins which had not been known or seen in darkness, prior to light. When these sins are revealed, the Blood of Jesus (unlimited and supreme) cleanses us from their contamination thus, revitalizing the power over them. There are no exemptions from the sins which can be cleansed. No limit to the sanctification by Jesus, our Messiah.
When we walk in the light, we are not perfect. We are works in progress so, we can’t say, “we have no sins” but confession and renunciation of sin(s) are acts of solidarity with the truth; thus, disconnecting the alliance we might have had with them; parting with them, forever.
Denying this process of confession of sin(s) is making God a liar. Wait a minute, God cannot lie so we are living in lies. In other words, denying this phase is returning to the old path of “walking in darkness”. There is no middle ground mentioned. We have then to choose either light or darkness. It’s either a fellowship of truth with Jesus or the other side.
So today, I’ve learnt to stand for Christ and forsake the ways of darkness. Wow! That’s a long list to throw away but its worth it to fly high with my saviour.
