John was to prepare the hearts of the people to see the need for JESUS (Mark 1:2-5) because JESUS was to save them by empowerment to live for GOD (Mark 1:8). John was aware of his duty just as much as JESUS was (Mark 1: 7-8). John preached Repentance from sin and JESUS brought an understanding against sin with an empowerment over sin.
Weeping, Dying, dead. End of sin, finished evil, buried in wealthy man's tomb, resurrected, king: with an unending throne and reign; guide to the lost, light to the world, mercy for the broken, unforgotten, undefeated; not disputed; the last message to humanity from GOD: creator not created – GOD as GOD before humanity.
The role of the prophets were: to keep the hope for the Messiah alive; ensure that the sculpting by the law was in effect; and warned against leaving GOD which is the greatest evil to be committed. Yet the duties of the prophet are beyond this list but the emphasis of this bond is the role of the prophet to give a description narrative of/to the Messiah.
