The truth is the tongue represents our desires and our inner-makeup to life so if we cannot control our desires and the words which we live by, then we have not attained true liberation. If there is evil in the world today, even after salvation, it is by the work of the tongue. James calls it an "unruly evil".
For the world, Noah was a mad man who thought it would rain when all we've ever had was dew; for the world, Abraham had to be very stupid to set off at dawn with the aim of obeying an unseen voice commanding him to sacrifice the child he waited over seven decades for. For the world, Jacob had to be very desperate if he thought his experiment with the sheep would actually work; or Joseph who let down a juicy affair in order to please 'GOD'…
Such words as “Religion”, “rites”, “ritual”, “revenge” to name a few. I feel these words – and more like them – are they which should not be comfortably descriptive of the Christian. They come with their unrefined notions and unwanted baggage. Anyway, permit me to rephrase your latter verses in this first chapter as the Conservatives' Creed: Eight Lovely Christian Notions the World Hates.
It occurs when our consciences judge us as unworthy to behold GOD. They wrap us in a filter of guilt and of filth. They bear witness to us that we are dogs, trampling on HIS Grace; that we are liars, denying the enormity of the process of HIS Grace; that by turning our backs to HIS Law of Love and love for the law, we have put a distance between our humanity and GOD’s Divinity.
For GOD'sBondMan – and others alike – regardless of what we face or what faces us, we must be prepared to affirm in all good graces that the Will of GOD is eminent in the very result of the world, today.
To say that there is no GOD even when you worship GOD is to relegate GOD to the hitman position, the fixer who cleans up the mess that wouldn't be if you simply asked before doing.
